The tasks of the Office involve:
- supporting and solving current problems connected with studying,
- issuing opinions on the applications of the disabled submitted to the authorities of the University,
- providing information on the possibilities of obtaining material aid from the University and on the programmes of the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Handicapped People and other institutions,
- ensuring (if possible) access to equipment which makes it easier for the disabled to gain knowledge,
- psychological assistance and professional counselling,
- acting for the integration of handicapped students and PhD students into the academic community,
- cooperation with self-governments and student organisations and other external organisations whose activity is connected with the community of the disabled.
